Economy Minister has met with new WB regional director


June 7, Fineko/abc.az. Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev has met with Mercy Tembon, World Bank's ex-regional director for the South Caucasus and newly-appointed Regional Director for the South Caucasus, Sebastian Molineus.

Shahin Mustafayev pointed out that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the WB. Technical assistance and financial support of the Bank are highly appreciated. Introduction of international best practices in projects and bringing of modern technologies and innovations to our country is of great importance.

As a whole, the WB has given loans for 54 projects in Azerbaijan. Of them, 48 projects have been completed and six ones are under implementation.

The minister also stressed that in WB report Doing Business 2019 Azerbaijan ranks 25th among 190 countries and is included in the list of 10 most reformed countries.

The parties exchanged views on further cooperation with the WB.
