17:48 - 20.06.2019

June 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Parliamentary Committee on Labor & Social Policy held a meeting on 20 June.

Addressing to the meeting, Labour Minister Sahil Babayev told about the measures relating to social reforms.

He pointed out that the annual financial burden of this year’s first social package is AZN 2 bn. The second social package covers 2.1 million citizens. The annual expenditures of this package will amount to about AZN 2 bn. But for the remaining period of 2019 AZN 660 million will be allocated for these purposes.

The measures taken within the second social package will lead to an increase in wages of 1.35 million citizens and to an increase in pensions of 750,000 citizens.

The minister stressed that from 1 January 2020 pensions will increase by 15% as a result of indexation. Thus, currently, pensioners who receive 160 manats will receive 200 manats from October and 230 manats from January.

Babayev said that the funds allocated within the social packages are the money received as a result of economic growth, and are not transfers from the State Oil Fund.
