43rd session of UNESCO World Heritage Committee starts in Baku

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. The opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the UNESCO World Heritage Committee has been held on 30 June.

First Vice-President of Azerbaijan and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony.

The presentations of 36 out of 42 applications submitted for inclusion in the World Cultural Heritage List will be considered at the session in Baku. Of them, six proposals relate to natural, 28 to cultural and two to mixed (natural and cultural) heritage.

The event is attended by over 2,500 representatives from more than 180 countries.
