Russian airline declines to open a flight from Rostov to Baku

12:13 - 2.07.2019

July 2, Fineko/abc.az. Russian airline IrAero refused to open direct flights via route Rostov-on-Don - Baku due to lack of demand for this flight.

The Russian media report that IrAero planned to fly from Rostov to Baku weekly, and the cost of one-way tickets started from 12,000 rubles.

"It was expected to launch the new flight on 6 July and carry out flights on Saturdays on aircrafts Sukhoi Superjet 100. We have seen that sales practically do not go, and made a decision to sell some tickets below cost. But those measures did not allow increasing sales,” says IrAero transportation service’s head Alexander Makin.

The airline representative noted that all who purchased tickets for this flight will be refunded in full.

Currently, IrAero operates flights to Baku from Chelyabinsk, Orenburg and Yekaterinburg.

Flights via route Rostov-on-Don - Baku from 30 October 2016 were carried out Russian airline Pobeda. But the flights have been stopped since 30 May 2017.
