SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev met with Itochu Corporation president


July 10, Fineko/abc.az. Today, president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev has met with a delegation led by Keith Ishi, co-chair of the Japan-Azerbaijan Economic Committee and president of Itochu Corporation.

In the course of the meeting Abdullayev spoke about the long-term cooperation between Itochu and SOCAR and noted that there are wide opportunities for the development of relations.

He also told in details about the conditions created to protect foreign investments in Azerbaijan and highly appreciated participation of Japanese companies in the oil and gas sector of our country.

Expressing satisfaction with his stay in Azerbaijan, Itochu’s president stressed his interest in cooperation with SOCAR in all directions and formats.

Japanese company Itochu has participated in the development of oil and gas fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli within the framework of the Contract of the Century, and then in the projects of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and STAR oil refining plant, constructed in Turkey by SOCAR.
