July 12, Fineko/abc.az. The population of Azerbaijan acquired consumer goods in retail trade for AZN 17.98 bn for Jan-Jun 2019.

The State Statistics Committee informs that this is 2.8% higher than the 2018 same term.

In the 1st half of 2019 the Azerbaijani population purchased foods, beverages and tobacco products for AZN 8.9 bn and non-foods for AZN 9.03 bn.

During the reporting period 44.9% of retail consumer spending accounted for foods, 4.9% for beverages and tobacco, 18% for textiles, clothing and footwear, 5.9% for electrical appliances and furniture, 5.5% for motor fuel, 1.3% for pharmaceuticals and medical products, 0.8% for computer, telecommunications and printing equipment, and 18.7% for non-foods.

Expenditures per capita for purchase of foods, beverages and tobacco products for Jan-Jun 2019 totaled AZN 150.9 and for purchase of non-foods AZN 152.3.
