Economy Minister: Azerbaijan-Afghanistan trade turnover grew by 37% for 2018


July 16, Fineko/abc.az. Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with the delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, led by Mohammad Humayun Qayumi, Finance Minister and chief advisor on infrastructure and technology to president.

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Economy informs that during the conversation on the main directions of cooperation Mustafayev said that in 2018 the two countries’ trade turnover increased by 37% and the growth trend continues in 2019 as well.

The minister also pointed out that the potential of cooperation in the field of energy, industry, agriculture, trade and investment, small and medium-sized businesses, ICT, humanitarian and other areas.

Stressing that his country is interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan, the Afghan minister shared his opinion on the development of relations in industry, trade, investment and other spheres.

The questions of expansion of Azerbaijani-Afghan economic ties were discussed by the meeting parties.
