July 18, Fineko/abc.az. Chemical production of Azerbaijan increased for the 1st half of 2019.

According to the State Statistics Committee, for Jan-Jun of the year the country produced 52,500 tons of propylene (including 52,400 tons of commercial propylene), 59,200 tons of polyethylene, 71,500 tons of ethylene, 188,700 tons of methanol (methyl alcohol).

Over the first 6 months of the year production in the chemical industry grew by 30.4% against the 2018 same term.

During the reporting period the production of propylene increased by 57%, ethylene by 18.7%, and polyethylene by 1.2%.

As of 1 July 3,300 tons of propylene, 3,500 tons of polyethylene and 31,600 tons of methanol remained at country’s warehouses of finished products.
