July 31, Fineko/abc.az. As of 30 June 2019 the total assets of the banks operating in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 29.98 bn and total liabilities AZN 25.38 bn. The balance capital of the sector reached AZN 4.599 bn.

For comparison, as of 31 December 2018 banks’ total assets in Azerbaijan amounted to AZN 29.5 bn and total liabilities AZN 25.4 bn. Assets and liabilities of the sector grew slightly for the first 6 months.

The data on the occasion was published by the Financial Market Supervision Authority.

43.8% of the sector's assets account for the loan portfolio by this June. The total loan portfolio increased by 4.1% (AZN 517.7 million) for the 1st half of the year up to AZN 13.146 bn by the end of June.
