New PM to be appointed in Azerbaijan today

October 8, Fineko/abc.az. New Prime Minister of Azerbaijan will be appointed today.

The matter has been included officially in the agenda of today's plenary session of Milli Majlis (parliament).

The candidature of Ali Asadov, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan for economic issues, has been proposed for the post of the Prime Minister.

Thus, the plenary session will cover the issue of Ali Khidayat oglu Asadov's consent to the appointment as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In accordance with Article 109 of the Constitution (powers of the President of Azerbaijan), the President appoints the Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the consent of the parliament.

Another 13 questions will also be discussed at the session of the Parliament.

The current Prime Minister of Azerbaijan is Novruz Mammadov. He has been in this position since 21 April 2018.
