SOCAR AQS starts a project on underground gas storage facilities in Turkey

A contract has been signed in Istanbul on 17 October within the framework of the project on the expansion of the underground gas storage in the Salt Lake (Tuz Gelu) between SOCAR AGS and joint venture China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd. - IC Içtaş Inşaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A. Ş.

According to the agreement, SOCAR AGS plans to drill 40 wells on the territory of Tuz Gelu and transfer them to the customer. The value of the proposed contract is about $100 million.

The project envisages the storage of 4 bn cu m of natural gas in wells.
