New wagons to be delivered for Baku Metro


October 22, Fineko/abc.az. The old wagons in the metro locomotive fleet, whose service life is expiring, will be replaced with new ones.

Baku Metro CJSC informs that in this regard, a relevant contract has been signed with Metrovagonmash JSC.

Russian joint stock company Transmashholding will produce new wagons for the Baku Metro in 2020-22. The agreement was signed by Baku Metro’s chairman Zaur Huseynov and Metrovagonmash’s general director Boris Bogatyrev.

In compliance with the agreement the Company will produce annually a total of 4 trains out of 20 cars for the Baku Metro. Thus, within three years the plant will fabricate 60 modern wagons or 12 trains for the Baku Metro.

It should also be noted that the wagons whose service life in the Baku Metro expired will be put out of service and be replaced with new ones. New wagons of model 81-765.B/766.B belong to the most modern from angle of 4th generation innovation and will be manufactured on the basis of technical specifications offered by the customer.
