ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Urban Rusnak, Secretary General of the Energy Charter at the International Energy Charter Forum taking place in Baku.

He noted that the Energy Charter Secretariat, in accordance with the best practices of the European Union and the world, supports Azerbaijan in the development of appropriate legislation on energy efficiency.

"The first draft of the Law on the Efficient Use of Energy Resources & Energy Efficiency was completed last year. And this year we’ve started preparing a national action plan on energy efficiency of Azerbaijan, and its completion is scheduled for late 2019 and will be discussed in early 2020. A new draft will be prepared under name energy.info jointly with the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and the Energy Charter," Rusnak said.
