Central Bank issued a commemorative coin

October 24, Fineko/abc.az. The Baku State University marks this year the 100th anniversary of its foundation. The university was established as the first new type of higher education institution in the Muslim East, left over from the People's Republic of Azerbaijan. In order to commemorate this anniversary, the Central Bank (CBA) issued silver jubilee coins with nominal value of 5 manats.

ABC.AZ with reference to the CBA reports that the weight of the coins is 1 Troy ounce, and their diameter is 38.61 mm. The jubilee coins are made at The Royal Mint of Great Britain on the basis of Pruf technology.

On the front side of the coin there is a description of the administrative building of the Baku State University, a quote and signature of national leader Heydar Aliyev, an 8-pointed star, national patterns and ornaments, and on the reverse side - the state emblem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the denomination of the monetary sign. The jubilee coin is the official means of payment in the country at face value.
