October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Turkey imported 735 million cu m of natural gas from Azerbaijan in August of the year, reported the Energy Market Regulation Organization (EMRA) of Turkey.

In August the volume of Turkish gas from Azerbaijan decreased by 165 million cu m against July. Azerbaijan ranked the 2nd for August after Russia (1.45 bn cu m) among the countries from where Turkey imported gas most of all.

For the first 8 months of this year natural gas import from Azerbaijan to the brotherly country totaled 6.45 bn cu m.

Last year Azerbaijan exported 7.527 million cu m of natural gas to Turkey.

Turkey imports natural gas from Azerbaijan via the South Caucasus pipeline (SCT) (Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum) and TANAP. 51% of TANAP shares are owned by CJSC Southern Gas Corridor, 7% by STEASH, 30% by Botash, and 12% by BP.
