Alim Guliyev told about exemption of e-commerce from VAT

November 6, Fineko/abc.az. E-commerce exemption from VAT can give impetus to the development of this sphere in the future, stated Central Bank’s chairman Alim Guliyev at the 4th International Banking Forum "Cashless Economy: Towards Sustainable Banking".

He noted that this sphere has been actively developing over the last few years, and the exemption of e-commerce from VAT can accelerate further this development: "We continue negotiations with tax authorities in this direction. We believe that e-commerce should be exempt from VAT. Currently, the VAT rate in Azerbaijan makes up 18%."
