Compulsory health insurance not to be applied from January – schedule and some rules have changed

November 25, Fineko/abc.az. Some rules on insurance and schedule of compulsory health insurance, the application of which was expected from 1 January 2020, have changed.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Zaur Aliyev, the chairman of board of the Compulsory Health Insurance Agency.

Speaking about the main innovations, he noted that the introduction of CHI in the country will not begin immediately throughout the country, but in stages.

"For this purpose, the territory of the country will be conditionally divided into 4 parts," Agency’s chair stressed.

He points out that CHI to be applied from next January will begin first with 20 districts of the northern region of the country, and every 3 months other districts will join the process. The northern region includes 20 districts. In 3 months, that is, from 1 April, the districts of the western region of Azerbaijan will join this process – speech is about 17 more districts. From the 3rd quarter, 14 districts in the southern region will join this process. Baku and Sumgait will join the process by the 4th quarter. As a result, until the end of 2020 the population of the entire country will be able to get health insurance."
