December 5, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan is likely to produce soon diesel fuel and petrol of Euro 5 standard.

ABC.AZ reports that the 2nd and 3rd stages of the reconstruction project of the SOCAR oil refinery named after Heydar Aliyev are being implemented.

As a result of the work carried out within the framework of the project, in 2021-2022 Azerbaijan plans to produce diesel fuel and petrol on Euro 5 standard.

In 2024-2025 it is planned to increase output production up to 7.5 million tons.

One of the main goals of the project is to improve the environmental situation in Baku. In production processes, mainly during the operation of old plants, there appear a number of risks to the environment, and modernization will minimize such risks.

For this purpose, introduction of modern & international standard compliant technologies is envisaged.
