Fed to announce a decision on interest rates

December 11, Fineko/abc.az. The US central bank (Fed) will announce the interest rate decision at 11 pm on Baku time today.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to foreign media that experts gave preliminary forecasts on the occasion.

Presumably, by the end of the year the Federal Reserve will hardly change the interest rates, keeping them stable. How long the Fed will maintain such interest rates will be watched with interest by world giants of the economy. Economists believe the Fed will remain in state of expectation of interest rates in the next 1 or 2 years.

This year the Federal reserve has cut the interest rate three times, reducing the monetary policy in July by 25 points to 2.00-2.25%, in September again by 25 points to 1.75-2.00%, in October again by 25 points to 1.50-1.75%. Fed’s chairman Jerome Powell stated at a meeting in October that "they aren’t planning to increase interests at the moment", hinting that it would be appropriate to do that in the future.
