Pensions to increase again from January 2020


December 16, Fineko/abc.az. Pensions, average monthly wages, benefits and salaries in some professions are expected to increase from 2020.

ABC.AZ reports that Deputy Minister of Labor & Social Protection Anar Kerimov noted that from 1 January 2020 pensions (all types of pensions, including the minimum pension) will increase in the amount of the growth of the average monthly wage - by about 13-14%.

Touching this matter, former MP Musa Guliyev emphasized that in accordance with the latest additions and amendments to the Law on Labor Pensions the pensions are indexed by the percentage of growth in average monthly wage.

"In 2019 our average monthly salary grew almost by 14%. This means that next year pensions of all categories will grow at least by 15%,” Guliyev said.

It should be noted that the subsistence minimum for 2020 in the country is set at the level of 190 manats, for the able-bodied population - 201 manats, for pensioners - 157 manats, and for children - 170 manats.
