Date of payment of contributions on compulsory health insurance unveiled

December 25, Fineko/abc.az. The Law on Health Insurance to come into force on 1 January 2020 approves transitional provisions in connection with contributions on compulsory health insurance.

ABC.AZ reports that starting from next January the CHI contribution to be paid from wages will make 2% of wages of hired employees, military men (except the military personnel of urgent active military service), persons appointed to job position in way of election by Milli Majlis or the body (structure) defined by the relevant executive authority, persons holding paid elected office, in case employee's salary reaches up to 8,000 manats and 0.5% of wages exceeding 8,000 manats. As for individual entrepreneurs, private notaries, members of the Bar Association), registered in the tax payment system as taxpayers, except of cases of temporary cessation of business activity or other taxable operations in accord with the Tax Code, the CHI contribution will make up 4% of the minimum monthly wage.

CHI will be applied in stages, and its introduction is expected to finish in 2020, taking into account the established sequence on administrative territorial units of the country.

As for other kind of policyholders the contribution will make 48% of the minimum wage from 1 January 2023.
