January 28, Fineko/abc.az. Specialists of the Azerbaijan Ecotourism Association (AzETA) initiated the creation of ecoparks in Baku as a pilot project, ABC.AZ was reported from AzETA.

In accord with the relevant proposal, AzETA has drawn professional specialists from different spheres and is considering suitable territories for this activity. After finding areas suitable for creation of eco-parks, specialists will contact the appropriate bodies and conduct work on raising investments for putting this idea into reality.

At this stage, the Association is studying the ecotourism opportunities of the Absheron Peninsula, Binagadi, Khazar, Surakhani, Narimanov, Sabayil, Garadagh, and Yasamal districts of Baku, in particular, green areas, abandoned parks, and wide open spaces on their territories. The creation of eco-parks will open up new jobs and attract specialists on these questions.
