Central Bank cuts discount rate - the decision takes effect from today

January 31, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank has lowered the discount rate from 7.5% to 7.25%.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Central Bank’s chairman Elman Rustamov at a media conference on the announcement of the parameters of the interest rate corridor.

He noted that the lower threshold of the interest rate corridor has been reduced from 5.75% to 5.5%, and the upper threshold from 9.25% to 9%: "The decision on the discount rate takes effect from today. The Central Bank's management will once again consider the parameters of the interest rate corridor on 19 March."
