15:03 - 4.02.2020

February 4, Fineko/abc.az. A conference chaired by President Ilham Aliyev and devoted to the results of the first year of the State Program of Socio-Economic Development of the Regions of Azerbaijan for 2019-23 was held on 3 February.

ABC.AZ reports that in his speech at the conference the president urged the country's entrepreneurs not to violate the labor rights of employees, enter into labor contracts with them, pay wages transparently and do not force their employees to work overtime.

The head of state noted that those who allow that will be punished: "The rules are also very simple. They must run their activity in accordance with the law, enter into employment contracts, and not exploit employees. Because, as I was informed, in some cases, employees work overtime. We have an 8-hour working day. No one should work more than 8 hours a day. But to save more money, they work 10 hours, 12 hours or more. This must end, and the Cabinet must control it. We need to hold a special meeting to discuss these issues, and if such cases are allowed, the entrepreneur will be punished."
