Number of bank branches declined, while bank employees increased - Report

February 7, Fineko/abc.az. The number of bank employees for 2019 has been published.

ABC.AZ reports citing data from the Central Bank that the number of people working in the banking sector increased by 2,045 people last year. So, at the end of 2019 the number of bank employees was 19,460 people against 17,415 at the end of 2018.

Last December alone the number of bank employees grew by 219.

It should be noted that last September the number of bank branches decreased from 515 to 509 at the end of 2019. The number of bank employees increased during the period of branch number reduction.
