Banks` debts to Central Bank grew last year

February 11, Fineko/abc.az. The finances the Central Bank of Azerbaijan allocated to the domestic banks decreased by AZN 58.6 million for the past year.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to CBA’s data that as of 31 December 2019 CBA’s requirements to banks reached AZN 326.1 million.

At the end of 2018 the requirements totaled AZN 384.7 million.

The banking sector funds raised by the CBA make about 2% of the total volume of loans (AZN 14.9 bn).

It is noteworthy that banks increased their debt to the Central Bank in the 4th quarter of 2019.

On 31 October 2019 CBA's requirements for the banks fell to AZN 159.6 million. It should be noted that for the last 2 months of 2019 the requirements increased by AZN 166.5 million up to 326.1 million.
