Central Bank: Smart cards to be given to 240,000 students in Azerbaijan

February 12, Fineko/abc.az. 240,000 students will be given smart cards until the end of 2020.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement by Farid Osmanov, a representative of the Central Bank, at the Visa Cashless forum in Baku.

He noted that Central Bank's expectations for this project are very high.  Osmanov noted that along with smart cards, the Central Bank launched another project: "The Central Bank launched a new project with Azerbaijan Railways CJSC. This is payment at railway stations by bank cards. I think this project will prevent the loss of time and have positive impact on a number of things."
