A document signed on railway project to run from Kars to Nakhchivan

February 26, Fineko/abc.az. A document on the construction of railway line Kars-Nakhchivan has been signed in Baku.

ABC.AZ reports that the document was signed on 25 February during the official visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Azerbaijan.

During a joint statement for the press President Ilham Aliyev said that the construction of railway line Kars-Igdir-Nakhchivan will contribute to the development of Nakhchivan.

The head of state noted that the Memorandum of Understanding on railway project Kars-Igdır-Aralık-Dilucu-Sederek-Nakhchivan-Julfa was signed Azerbaijani Minister of Transport, Communications & High Technology Ramin Guluzade and Turkish Deputy Transport & Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismayiloglu. At a press conference Erdogan also stated that a natural gas pipeline will be laid from Turkey to Nakhchivan.
