February 26, Fineko/abc.az. Housing will be provided first of all for the IDPs in difficult life situation.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Rovshan Rzayev, the chairman of the State Committee for Refugees & IDPs.

Committee’s chair noted that this work will be carried out in stages. According to Rzayev, up to 24,000 IDP families live in difficult conditions in Baku.

“They live in schools, gardens, unfinished buildings, dormitories, and boarding houses. In compliance with Azerbaijan president’s task the Committee continues construction of social apartments in Baku, Absheron, on the territory called "Sumgayit Station". We’ll try to complete this work by the end of the year. As you know, the president gave instructions on the construction of settlements designed for more than 7,000 families, and construction is currently underway. If this year we can complete the task, and I think we can, then in a few years, of course, this problem will be eliminated."
