March 5, Fineko/abc.az. The names of recreation centers in Sabayil district of Baku that pollute the Caspian Sea more than any other.

ABC.AZ reports that the above-said statement was made by Narmin Babashova, an employee of the Department of Integrated Environmental Monitoring of the Caspian Sea of the Ministry of Ecology & Natural Resources.

She noted that in Sabayil district the most polluted areas of the Caspian Sea are registered in settlements 20 Sahe, Badamdar and Bayilovo.

According to Babashova, during monitoring on the territory of the Binagadi and Sabail districts of the Caspian coast, it became known that wastewater generated in the recreation centers Mambo Beach Hotel, Khazar, Deniz, Darya and adjacent residential areas is not connected to the centralized sewer network and flows directly into the sea.

According to Department’s representative, in recent years the expansion of residential areas has led to an increase in the volume of untreated sewage: "The situation in Binagadi district is the same. Wastewater generated by Golden Water LLC and El Babtürk Ltd, firm Barakat 98 and other companies, as well as in residential areas located in settlement Khojasan, flows into the Khojasan Lake and from there in the sea without undergoing the cleaning process. The results of the conducted monitoring and analysis suggest that the amount of chemical and biological contamination in the wastewater flowing from these facilities into the sea exceeds the norm."
