March 10, Fineko/abc.az. The first session of the 6th convocation parliament of Azerbaijan has been held today.

ABC.AZ reports that President Ilham Aliyev is participating in the meeting.

In accordance with Article 2 of the Internal Charter of the parliament session, the Milli Majlis first session was entrusted to the oldest MP Ziyad Samedzadeh.

Samedzadeh read out the list of the elected MPs of the 6th convocation of Milli Majlis. After the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev delivered speech at the first session.

After the approval of the agenda, the issue of electing the chairman of the parliament was discussed, and Yeni Azerbaijan Party nominated MP Sahiba Gafarova as the chairman of the parliament. Gafarova was elected as the speaker of Milli Majlis.
