MP: Azerbaijan has opportunities to preserve material well-being of population

March 17, Fineko/abc.az. A meeting of the Parliament's Committee on Economic Policy, Industry & Entrepreneurship has been held today.

ABC.AZ reports that Committee’s chair Tair Mirkishili says that current events in the world, particularly the spread of coronavirus infection, create a new reality in the economy.

He noted that the current decline in economic activity, the introduction of restrictions in many services, including tourism, logistics, education and others, has led to the forecast of a slowdown in the world economy: "The world is already entering a new stage, and at this stage the main issue is related to the restoration of confidence and the adoption of stimulus measures. The socio-economic reforms implemented in recent years in Azerbaijan serve to national goals. These reforms produced results in a short time. Our state has enough opportunities to preserve the material well-being of the population."
