March 30, Fineko/abc.az. Due to the coronavirus epidemic, bank revenues in Azerbaijan have sharply decreased.

Expert Ekrem Hasanov said about this to ABC.AZ. According to Hasanov, this matter is related to the termination of lending to banks.

The expert explained the details of the termination of bank lending: "As you know, we are currently experiencing a crisis caused by coronavirus. Those who can repay the loan also no longer take out the loan. Because even if they take it, they’ll not be able to act in this economic crisis. And banks do not give loans to some citizens. As, preparing for the fact that currently these people have even less chance to repay the loan. And the reason for that is known. The population is now virtually out of work. Where will the income come from if the bank also doesn't give a loan? The source of income of our banks is interest income accumulated from loans given. However, banks also have operations on transferring and exchanging currency within the source of income. But they also declined due to a decline in economic activity. The operations I have listed have never been a serious source of income."
