ADB report shows growth in Azerbaijan’s grain production

April 3, Fineko/abc.az. The growth rate in the agricultural sector of Azerbaijan increased from 4.6% up to 7.3% in 2018.

ABC.AZ informs that the data is presented in ADB’s report on the country.

The ADB report says that the main cause of that is an 11.7% increase in grain production, mainly cereals and cotton. The creation of favorable conditions, as well as the further regime of exemption from taxes and duties on production assets and raw materials in the field of agriculture also contributed to the growth.

Individual consumption grew due to the increase in wages of employees, pensions and benefits of pensioners, as well as by stimulating the consumption of goods and services in the public sector amid the growth in wages of employees in the public sector.
