April 3, Fineko/abc.az. Today, with the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, an elevated pedestrian crossing has been opened at the intersection of Moskovsky Prospekt and The 20th January Street.

ABC.AZ reports that Saleh Mammadov, chairman of board of the State Motor Road Agency of Azerbaijan, noted that president’s tasks and instructions, the construction of above-ground and underground pedestrian crossings are of particular importance.

According to Mammadov, the ongoing work contributes to the modernization of the transport infrastructure of the capital as a whole: "As part of the comprehensive measures being implemented in this direction, the ground-level pedestrian crosswalk built at the intersection of Moskovsky Prospekt and The 20th January Street is of great importance. The construction of an elevated pedestrian crossing here will not only ensure the safety of pedestrians, but also prevent possible traffic jams on the territory, which will ultimately ensure the intensity of car traffic. Construction of the crossing began in 2018. The crosswalk is 130 m long and 3 m wide."
