April 9, Fineko/abc.az. A program has been launched to compensate entrepreneurs and their employees for damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

ABC.AZ reports that commenting on the matter, Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov noted that country’s average monthly salary for January was taken as the main criterion for supporting the wages paid by enterprises to employees.

According to the minister, the average salary amounts to 712 manats, and the salary of each employee who receives less will be paid to the company in full: "From today, the program of payments to micro- and individual entrepreneurs has also been launched. The State has allocated financial support of AZN 80 million to 300,000 individual entrepreneurs. This financial assistance covers taxpayers who paid taxes, mandatory state social insurance contributions, and unemployment insurance premiums in 2019. In order to speed up financial support, individual entrepreneurs should apply through the electronic offices available in the Internet tax administration, and the funds allocated from the State Budget will be transferred to the bank accounts of those individual entrepreneurs."
