IMF to help to 103 countries – relevant matter under consideration

April 21, Fineko/abc.az. Kristalina Georgieva, the president of the International Monetary Fund spoke about the difficulties of the pandemic period and its impact on economic activity.

ABC.AZ reports that speaking about the measures taken against the Covid-19 crisis, the IMF head also recalled that world governments have taken unprecedented steps to combat the epidemic.

"So far, the cost of financial measures has reached almost $8 trillion, and central banks have introduced more liquidity. The IMF has creditworthiness of $1 trillion. The Fund seeks to increase funding opportunities, especially for low-income countries. The IMF has requested urgent financial assistance from 103 countries. Half of these requirements will be evaluated by the IMF Board of Directors by the end of the month," Kristalina Georgieva said.
