Vusal Gasimli: Azerbaijani government undertakes main risks of ensuring manat stability

April 22, Fineko/abc.az. The budget for fighting the pandemic in our country is about AZN 3.5 bn and anti-crisis measures have been identified in a timely manner, while more than AZN 3 bn of funds for the stability of the manat have been brought in the foreign exchange market.

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Vusal Gasimli, the executive director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms & Communications.

According to Gasimli, the only government in the post-Soviet space is the government of Azerbaijan, which, by ensuring the stability of the national currency, has undertaken the main risks and maintained the macroeconomic stability.

"By the way, the currency of all countries exporting oil and having fully floating regime was subjected to the devaluation caused by the pandemic. The fight against the effects of the pandemic on the economy will take place in two stages. At present, the crisis is being prevented from deepening and stability is being maintained, while the second stage will begin to restore the economy. For economic recovery, it is more important to have access to markets that create cheap financial, light tax burden and demand," Gasimli believes.
