April 24, Fineko/abc.az. With the purpose to increase business competitiveness and to ensure effective compliance with sanitary and hygienic rules in the domestic tourism industry, the State Tourism Agency and the Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau have developed a special program – SAHMAN (Safety & Hygiene Methods & Norms).

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Agency's widespread information that tourism has entered a new era of formation as the area most affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the world.

The main goal of the SAHMAN industry program is to promote Azerbaijan as a safe tourist destination and increase its competitiveness both domestically and internationally. State Tourism Agency’s chairman Fuad Nagiyev noted that this program is designed to increase the competitiveness of post-pandemic tourism in Azerbaijan. Nagiyev points out that the project was prepared in coordination with other governmental agencies and is supported by the UN World Tourism Organization. He noted that regular monitoring will be conducted by local and foreign specialists to monitor the implementation of the program.
