April 28, Fineko/abc.az. The presidium of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan conducted a regular extended meeting on 27 April.

ABC.AZ was informed at ABA that the mechanism for applying Decision #16 on additional measures to support the population and business was discussed at the meeting.

The ABA members noted that a large-scale work was launched based on the far-sighted and thoughtful policy of the country's leadership to reduce the negative impact of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) on the economy of Azerbaijan, macroeconomic stability, employment and entrepreneurship. They emphasized the establishment of appropriate working groups with the participation of the Central Bank, the Ministry of Economy and other related organizations, and the representation of the Association of Banks in these groups.

In continuation of these comprehensive and systematic measures, the ABA members, guided by Central Bank’s additional Action Plan on the support for the population and businesses, analyzed the current situation, discussed some practical matters relating to the implementation of measures, and answered questions.
