Georgia may become first country to open its doors to tourists

May 1, Fineko/abc.az. "We’re actively working with the World Tourism Organization to make Georgia the first country to open its doors to tourists, subject to strict instructions. Of course, this can only be possible under strict control."

ABC.AZ reports that the relevant statement was made by Natia Turnava, the Minister of Economy & Sustainable Development of Georgia.

According to the minister, because of pandemic the tourism sector has suffered severe damage. Turnava added that the state will provide assistance to this sector until the tourism sector overcomes the existing problems.

"Currently, optimal work is being done to open the borders after the victory over the virus," she emphasized.
