May 12, Fineko/abc.az. On 11 May 2020 at 22:51 pm the hotline 112 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations received information about a fire at the EuroHome construction materials market located in the Binagadi district of Baku.

ABC.AZ was informed at the MES press-service that six minutes after receiving the call - at 22:57 pm the relevant forces of the MES State Fire Service arrived at the scene.

The fire was contained at 00:30, and completely extinguished at 01:30 am. The 3,300 sq m of the about 22,500 sq m market area was burned down, and the rest of the market was protected from fire.

"The fire was extinguished as soon as possible, and even greater consequences were prevented with the spread of the fire to a wider area.

For the purpose of fire protection of goods and materials on the market, the MES provided for their removal from the fire zone. In connection with the fire 406 firemen and 54 units of equipment of the MES fire service, the Special Risk Rescue Service, civil defence troops and the Baku Regional Center were brought to the territory.

The cause of the fire is being investigated," the MES spokesman said.
