Education Ministry created five more lyceums

June 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan has established five new lyceums in the cities of Ganja, Shirvan, Sheki, Guba, and Shamkir.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Ministry that in the city of Ganja and Guba district, lyceums with a focus on physics, mathematics and computer science are organized, in the cities of Shirvan, Shaki and Shamkir district - a republican lyceum with a chemical and biological focus.

Education in those lyceums will be provided at the expense of the state. In lyceums the pupils will be provided with hot meals three times a day at the expense of the state and a hostel if necessary.

The entrance exams to lyceums are scheduled for the second half of August 2020. At the entrance exam, along with tasks in the Azerbaijani language and mathematics, logical tasks will be included in the questions in order to test the students' non-standard thinking skills. In addition to entering grades IX, students' knowledge of physics and chemistry will be tested.
