June 8, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan and Iran will jointly create an industrial town and a logistics center in Ardabil region.

ABC.AZ reports that the statement was made by Davud Shaegan, the head of the organization for management & planning of Ardabil region.

He noted that along with this, the construction of Ardabil-Parsabad railway line was also discussed with the Azerbaijani side: "This railway line will connect Iran with Parsabad province. Besides, it will be connected to the railway that is part of the international North-South Transport Corridor. Goods produced in the industrial town will also be exported abroad through Azerbaijan via this international railway. And the logistics center will allow sending cargo exported from other regions of Iran and Azerbaijan to its destination."

It should be noted that in December 2019 during the visit to Iran by Shaheen Mustafayev, Deputy Prime Minister and co-chair of the State Commission on Economic, Trade & Humanitarian Spheres of Iran, an agreement was reached on the creation of a joint industrial town.
