Air ticket prices have dropped

June 9, Fineko/abc.az. Airlines around the world have started to reduce domestic fares. The International Air Transport Association (IATA) estimates that they have decreased by an average of 23%.

ABC.AZ informs that this was reported to RIA Novosti at the Russian Tour Operators’ Union (ATOR).

According to IATA, compared with April, when air traffic was almost completely stopped because of to the COVID-19 pandemic, the domestic passenger traffic in the world increased by 30% for May.

Google search queries for air traveling grew by 25% at the end of May versus April.

IATA chief economist Brian Pearce underlined that airlines need money because of the crisis and want to boost the passenger demand by offering lower fares.
