June 18, Fineko/abc.az. Strict quarantine measures can be applied either continuously or periodically.

ABC.AZ reports that this was announced by Nabil Seyidov, the department head of the Center for Public Health & Reforms of the Ministry of Health.

He added that permanent quarantine measures can last 2-3 months or longer: "Of course, this has its social, medical and economic consequences.

During periodic quarantine measures, the country, city or village is closed for a certain period of time - 3 weeks or 1 month. Then mitigation is applied. Then the situation is re-assessed. If there is growth again, the next time it is closed for 1 month, and then it softens."

Seyidov then said that another type of strict measures is temporary short-term quarantine: "These are two-day strict quarantine measures applied in Azerbaijan, and in other countries - three or four-day strict quarantine measures. The goal here is to ensure that infections would not increase dramatically, so that the numbers would not reach a peak, despite the relative increase. Thus, the intensive care unit and hospital beds should not be overcrowded."
