June 19, Fineko/abc.az. The Board of the Central Bank has made a decision to reduce the discount rate from 7.25% to 7%.

ABC.AZ was informed at the Central Bank that the lower threshold of the interest rate corridor has been reduced from 6.75% to 6.5%, and the upper one from 8% to 7.5%.

This decision was made at the last meeting on monetary policy, taking into account the decline in annual inflation and continued stability in the foreign exchange market, the improvement in international conditions, the weakening of consumer demand and its impact on inflation expectations.

The next decisions on the parameters of the interest rate corridor will be aimed at maintaining inflation in the stated target, maintaining financial stability and an optimal balance between priorities for supporting economic activity.
