June 29, Fineko/abc.az. The Central Bank announced a reduction in the number of POS terminals in Azerbaijan for the first 5 months of this year.

ABC.AZ reports that for Jan-May 2020 the number of POS terminals installed at retail facilities fell by 12,347 to 53,624 ones.

In April and May 2020 the number of POS terminals installed at retail facilities dropped by 16,120 ones. The decrease in the number of POS terminals is linked with the fact that special quarantine regime was introduced in connection with the coronavirus epidemic, as well as the with cancellation of licenses of four domestic banks.

At the end of 2015 the number of POS terminals installed at trade and service facilities reached 80,301 ones.
