Lavender flowers planted first time in this district

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. Lavender has been grown in district Gabala for the first time.

ABC.AZ reports that the collection of lavender, brought from Bulgaria and grown on clay soils, has already begun.

Since this plant, which has an antiseptic effect, is also used in cosmetics and medicine, its export opportunities are high. In Gabala village Chukhur Gabala the lavender flowers have already been planted on an area of 10 hectares. With the support of the Agency for the Development of Small & Medium-Sized Businesses (KOBIA) the gathering of flowers has been carried out with the participation of volunteers for several days.

It is expected to bring the area of the land plot designed for lavender growing up to 30 hectares.
