Azerbaijan increases fines for not wearing face masks

July 2, Fineko/abc.az. The Azerbaijan president has endorsed a decree tightening a fine for non-wearing of face masks in public.

ABC.AZ reports that in compliance with the decree the fines have increased in connection with the use of personal protective means during the period of anti-epidemic, sanitary and hygienic and quarantine regimes.

For violating the requirements established by the relevant executive authority in connection with the use of personal protective means during the anti-epidemic, sanitary–hygienic and quarantine regimes, as well as for not preventing violations of these requirements by officials or legal entities, individuals will be fined in the amount of 100 manats, officials 200 manats, and legal entities 400 manats.

In addition, individuals will be fined 200 manats, officials 400 manats, and legal entities 800 manats for repeating similar actions within a year from the date when the decision on administrative penalties for these acts comes into force.

Earlier, individuals were fined 100 manats, officials 200 manats, and legal entities 400 manats for repeating similar actions within a year after the decision on administrative penalties for violation of requirements in connection with the use of personal protective equipment during the anti–epidemic, sanitary-hygienic and quarantine regimes, as well as for failure to prevent violations of these requirements by officials or legal entities.
